What is ‘The Household of Family Ravening’?

It is a ‘Household’ as this word’s meaning is an apt description:

” family including ancestors and descendants, especially if noble; one’s own”.

Witch is a race; sitting apart from all other races who make up mankind, separated by differences that are usually discernible by those who are of the Blood. The word ‘noble’ is used with its original meaning of “to know how, to be able, from PIE base ‘gno-‘, ‘to know.

It is a Family because it consists of, and provides a place for, those who are its own.

The Family name is Ravening; having particular meanings that sit behind the name, the question “what name is upon you?” being of more relevance than the question “what is your name?”

Who are we? The Household of Family Ravening is a working Red Thread Witch Family. For a better understanding of Red Thread it may be of use to read the page on this site entitled “Red Thread”.

Family Ravening is founded on an oral tradition; its heritage and history are recorded in its legends still passed today in the same way our Ancestors did, some being older and some very different to what may be found in the public domain.

Family Ravening has many purposes; this web site exists to fulfill four of those purposes:
One purpose announces that the Household of Family Ravening exists and is actively working; a second purpose is to enable communication between itself and anyone who may be curious; a third is to provide an open doorway for those who feel a requirement to awaken Witch that lays asleep or dreaming; a fourth remembers a commitment made that will be fulfilled.
